Faculty of Engineering

In Engineering Faculty, there are five active departments;

to give eight-semester undergraduate education. Within this period, all lectures are in English.

Primary aim of Engineering Faculty is to train creative engineers who can successfully manage to work in the 21th century’s global competition environment having good communucation and teamwork skills. With this understanding, Piri Reis University engineering education programs are regulated as student-oriented and project-based.

Besides, domestic / abroad internship oppurtunities and Erasmus student exchange programs  are effectively being applied. There are bilateral agreements with below European universities until now.

By the help of a program called “Co-Op” with the industry, it is aimed to educate engineering students ready for the expectations of the sector. To achieve this aim, the students, who complete the lessons of the 3th year, spend their afternoons at shipyards, design offices, factories, engineering companies, public or private sector companies in order to practice their occupation during the 4th year of their education. “Co-Op” protocols are signed with eight marine companies and shipyards at İstanbul Technopark and nearby region . Also to support this program, Technology Transfer Office of PRU at İstanbul Technopark is planned not only technology improvement projects at the bachelor level but also MSc and PhD thesis, which focus on research will be realised.

Student – oriented, project – based engineering education at PRÜ engineering faculty is strengthened with the competent and qualified engineering and science labaratories, computer aided design labaratories, which has up to date endustrial softwares and student design office.

The only students in Turkey who are members of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME), headquartered in the United States and the one of world’s leading prestigious international professional organizations, and the other valuable society, The Royal Institute of Naval Architects – (RINA), based in London, are from Piri Reis University’s Faculty of Engineering. Engineering education at Piri Reis University is carried out by nationally and internationally recognized, very valuable, powerful, distinguished and authoritized academic staff including founder Rector Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Osman Kamil Sag and the founder Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Sander Calisal. With its academic staff and modern infrastructure, PRU Faculty of Engineering which had the first graduates in the 2013-2014 academic year will continue to provide qualified, modern and student-oriented education.
