PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE SERVICE

College life encompasses the last days of the individual’s adolescence.

This period is one in which the university youth live away from home and their families, make decisions on their own and bear the consequences of these, have to deal with problems of accommodation, nutrition, academic success, personal relations, flirtation, financial support and health, and is responsible for resolving matters such as integrity and identity, and self-education for the job that has been chosen in the best possible way.

The young individuals who are going through this period is very much interested in the sociological, political and economic problems of themselves, of society and humanity, and contemplates. They ponder over manners and customs, values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors more consciously. They are concerned about completing their education successfully in the occupation they have chosen and finding a job after graduation. They try to develop an identity in this process. Naturally, the young individual herself / himself is responsible for the solution of these problems. However, she or he needs assistance in this troubled period and that is where we come in.

Guidance is professional help given to the individual to enable them to know themselves, solve the problems they encounter in life, make realistic decisions about themselves, fully develop their capacity, communicate healthily with their environment and adapt to it, and realize themselves in the end. The psychologist works three days a week for the development of students in terms of cognition, emotion, and social life. So as not to cause any inconvenience, it is important to make an appointment before coming in for a consultation. Continuing the sessions in strict confidence by putting our trust in the individual and respecting their personal rights, listening unconditionally to their all kinds of problems without passing any judgment on them and helping them resolve the matters they encounter by being honest with them constitute the basis of what we do.
