The Importance of Vocational Training for Sustainable Port Operations and the Greenport Alliances Project Presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tutku Eker İşcioğlu from Piri Reis University
As part of Pilotage Week held between May 12–16, the Turkish Maritime Pilots’ Association organized a panel titled “Those Who Steer the Course to Safety.” The event featured distinguished presentations by Capt. Nildeniz Sütçü Şen, President of Turkish Maritime Pilots’ Association, Capt. Simon Pelletier, President of the International Maritime Pilots’ Association, and Capt. Arie Palmers, representative of the European Maritime Pilots’ Association. Assoc. Prof. Tutku Eker İşcioğlu also presented the Greenport Alliances project to leading stakeholders of the pilotage services. One of the key outcomes of the project so far, the Industry Report, was shared with participants and valuable insights were gathered to contribute to the development of the Vocational Education and Training curriculum — one of the central goals of the project.
