ISFL 19th World Conference Concludes at Pîrî Reis University

The 19th World Conference of the International Society of Family Law (ISFL) – Istanbul 2026, continuing a distinguished tradition of international academic exchange spanning more than five decades, was hosted by Pîrî Reis University.

Organized in collaboration with the International Society of Family Law (ISFL) and the Faculty of Law of Pîrî Reis University, the Conference brought together more than 260 academics, judges, legal practitioners, and experts from 30 countries at our Tuzla Campus.

Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Turkish Civil Code, this special gathering provided an important international forum for discussions on contemporary challenges in family law, with particular emphasis on vulnerability, the protection of families, and the rights and legal status of women.

We were especially honoured to welcome Lady Brenda Hale, former President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, whose keynote address was one of the highlights of the Conference and greatly enriched our academic programme.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the ISFL leadership, our distinguished keynote speakers, presenters and moderators, and all participants for their valuable contributions and enthusiastic engagement throughout the Conference.

It was a great honour and privilege for Pîrî Reis University to host this remarkable international gathering in Istanbul. We hope that all our guests returned home with inspiring academic exchanges, new friendships, and wonderful memories of their time with us.
