About Vertical Migration
– In order to register for this program, students must;
- Meet the legal conditions regarding the Seafarers and Pilots Regulation and the Seafarers and Pilots Education and Examination Directive, Registration and Acceptance in Educational Institutions, Health Conditions, b. Have the “Seafarers Eligible Health Report” they received in accordance with the procedures and principles determined in the Seafarers Health Directive published by the General Directorate of Border and Coastal Health approved by the Health Inspection Center and receive a Seafarers Health Examination Certificate.
– In the scholarships to be given, including the compulsory preparatory class (excluding optional preparatory classes), Scholarship: covers the entire tuition fee; 50% Discount: half of the tuition fee and 25% Discount: one-fourth of the tuition fee, and students will pay the remaining portion of the tuition fee. In scholarship/discount programs, scholarships/discounts continue for one year in the preparatory class and the normal education period of the program (on condition that the student continues his/her education and classes) and are not interrupted until the end of this period. In scholarship/discount programs, scholarships/discounts are non-refundable and if the student does not continue his/her education and leaves the program, no additional tuition fee can be requested from the leaving students according to the scholarship/discount rate. The relevant higher education institution may provide the opportunity to study with scholarship/discount for more than this period. Higher education institutions may allow students who are their own students or students of another university but have withdrawn or been dismissed from a higher education program, and who have graduated from a higher education program, to register only in fee-based or other discounted statuses in accordance with the higher education institution’s own legislation if they are placed in scholarship or discounted programs according to the DGS results; The University reserves the right to register those in this situation only in fee-based or other discounted programs.
– Students who enroll in this program and continue in the foreign language preparatory class but fail to successfully complete the preparatory class within two years will be dismissed from the program. Students who fail the preparatory class and are dismissed from the program may enroll in an equivalent program in their higher education institution, if any, whose language of instruction is Turkish. However, if these students request so, they may be centrally placed in one of the programs in which the language of instruction is Turkish by the Presidency of the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center, provided that the student’s central placement score is not lower than the base score sought for enrollment in the program they will be placed in, as of the year they enroll.
– The language of instruction is English.
– A one-year compulsory Preparatory Program is implemented in the language of instruction of the program, and those who pass the proficiency exam in the relevant language at the end of the program are directly registered to the first year. The preparatory class is not included in the years shown in the education period column. The university accepts the following for the relevant language; a) Those who document that they have passed one of the national and/or international foreign language exams at a level determined by the university, b) Those who have passed the relevant language proficiency exam to be held by the university at the beginning of the academic year are directly admitted to the first year. The provisions of the “Regulation on the Principles to be Followed in Foreign Language Education and Foreign Language Education in Higher Education Institutions” are applied to students.
–Discounts and opportunities (tuition fee exemption, scholarship, money, dormitory, food, etc.) provided by the Board of Trustees/Board of Directors of the higher education institution, tuition fee payment terms, installment or cash payment options, other fees, increases in fees in subsequent years, scholarship periods to be granted for scholarship programs and other issues related to education will be announced to students on the website of the relevant higher education institution. Fees, payment methods, possible increases in tuition fees may be redetermined each year, also for registered students, at a rate deemed appropriate by the Board of Trustees/Board of Directors, taking into account the TEFE-CPI rates. Some higher education institutions may allow students who are their own students or students of another university but have withdrawn or been dismissed from a higher education program, and who have graduated from a higher education program, to register only in fee-based or other discounted statuses in accordance with the higher education institution’s own legislation, if they are placed in scholarship or discounted programs according to the central placement results ; The University reserves the right to only register those in this situation for fee-based or other discounted programs. A HEALTH REPORT BEARING THE PHRASE “THE PERSON CONCERNED IS ELIGIBLE TO BE A SEAMAN.”
!!! A report bearing the phrase “THE PERSON CONCERNED IS ELIGIBLE TO BE A SEAMAN.”, obtained from public and private health institutions authorized according to the provisions of the seafarers health directive, will be issued by the students of the Maritime Faculty (Maritime Transportation Management Engineering and Marine Engineering Management Engineering students), Maritime Vocational School (Maritime Transportation Management, Marine Engineering Management, Mechatronics, Marine and Port Management, Marina and Yacht Management and Cooking). After the hospital report is completed, a notarized photocopy of the Seafarers Health Examination Certificate approved by the GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF HEALTH FOR BORDER AND COASTS will be submitted to the Student Affairs Directorate during registration.
Note: There is no additional preference and field scholarship in DGS (External Transfer) Quotas.
